We can offer insurance for people aged 70-73, however, the excess is higher (£1,400). You will be required to sign extra paperwork which will be provided on the day of hire.
The essential items you will need to have to hand when making your booking is a valid drivers licence and your national insurance number, we will ask some other questions such as address, age etc.
On the day of collecting your van you will be asked for your drivers licence (or a passport if it's not a photo drivers licence) along with a letter proving your current address (utility bill or council tax letter will suffice).
Looking to hire from us but not sure how long you need it for? We are happy to put bookings on possible Extensions for you if you don't think you will be done in enough time. This means you can pay for the days you want but not have to worry about coming back if you won't get the job finished.
Always remember we can extend but can never give refunds for early returns.
Our rental period is for 24 hours, this starts at 8am pickup and of course 8am dropoff the following day. We are open 7 days a week with a 8am collection/drop off on Saturday and Sundays.
Additional drivers can be added to the rental agreement, just let us know before the day of your hire.
Like yourself they must provide the same information when going through the booking process, meet any age restrictions and have a full valid driving licence for the van in question.
You can rent a vehicle as long as you have 6 or less penalty points on your licence. These points include those for minor offences, such as speeding offences. Drivers must not have any serious driving convictions.
If you have more than 6 points and/or any other driving conviction codes on your licence, please contact us so we can confirm with our insurers that you may hire a vehicle.
95% of our vans are able to drive in Sheffield's clean air zone. If you are planning on going into the city centre it would be worth telling us so we are able to put you in the correct van.
You don't need to buy insurance on your rental as all our vans can come with insurance (as long as you pass all of our insurance questions). However, we don't offer damage waivers, so you may want to purchase extra protection from a third party.
No, you must come into the office to collect your van.
